Warm weather knits

To help celebrate the warm weather that has finally hit the bluegrass we knitted up this quick and easy Bamboo Ballerina tank top from South West Trading Company. The pattern uses from 3-5 balls of the SWTC bamboo, but would also knit up well in Pure, Eden, or Hempathy. The pattern has great shaping and is free with yarn purchase.

We've Got That Local Flavor!

In addition to our locally hand dyed yarns we now have some locally handspun yarn! Mostly wool, some llama and alpaca. Both dyed and in natural colors. For the spinners we have some locally dyed and carded roving. Super wool and wool/soysilk. The colors are gorgeous, it's destined to be some lovely yarn! If you're interested in learning to dye yarn yourself, watch for Robyn's dye class coming in June.

Springtime is Felting time

Felting is making a pretty big comeback with new books like Felt Frenzy and Felt It. There is nothing we love more than a felted bag and this mini skull bag from Hello Yarn is perfect for a quick weekend project. We made the bag a little larger by knitting it with Cascade 109 on US13 needles. The project uses two skeins of the grey and less than one skein of the pink.
